Becky, Do you know what part of IL your Murphys came from? My ggg grandfather was Ansel Murphy, gg grandfather was Ansyl Roe Murphy, ggrandfather was Otto Murphy. They were from Pope Co., IL Ansel was born in 1830, Ansyl was born March 19, 1853 died April 22, 1942, Otto was born Feb. 20, 1884, don't know when he died. I can't find anything about where they were from before Ansyl. I'm not sure where Ansel was born but I do know Ansyl was born in Pope Co. Please let me know if you know where your Murphys went.
