Rooters.....Yes, some of us still plugging away on our Murphy lines; I've
been able to trace my tree back to 1798 Eastern Shores of MD where the
progenitor of our Murphy tree was born; I've no info on either his siblings
or, of course, his parents......might have been a Thomas or maybe a John
Murphy but can't seem to pin point the details.
Attended the FGS Conference in Ontario, CA in Aug.....hope to realign
some of my research goals with help of those interesting programs.
I was really surprised earlier this year when letter from Belfast,
Ireland arrived with details of my wife's Co Antrim original family back to
ca 1830; included name change from McIlhatton to McHatton......I'd been
casually looking for answer for couple years without any success at all.
Moral of story.....don't ever give up.
Next week, hope to spend few days in Dover, DE area with side trips into
MD counties on Eastern Shore; not sure if I'll make any new discoveries but I
must try.
