Hi Charlie,

Yes, I know the Morphy chess player you're talking about - he was Paul
Morphy, my great-great-uncle. And Alejandro O'Reilly is very famous in New
Orleans history.

Thanks for wishing me luck. I think all of us researching Murphys (even
when they change their name to Morphy) have a very difficult job. My
Murphys probably left Ireland around 1730 or so - not much left in the way
of records from that time.
