There was a John and Margaret Murphy who were in Coosa County, Alabama in the
1840's and 1850's. I found them in the census while researching my Murphy's
from the same area. You did not give a location as to where they moved from
SC, so I am sending this just in case this might be the correct ones. I do
not know the maiden name of the Margaret who was the wife of John.
