Richard was a Teamster in Ozark, MO, during the Civil War;
Per family legend he was killed by Jayhawkers along with one
daughter. Allegedly these men came into Richard's home, demanding
money, food, etc. Apparently according to the story, Richard was
holding his daughter (not known which one), both were shot when
Richard refused to help them. Richard married first to Susan or
Mary (Williams?) b. 1810 Alabama; second to Sidney (HORN) Dean
b.1819 Wabash Co., IL d. 1902 Searcy Co., Arkansas
