I'm Sharon Murphey Worthey and I maintain the list for Missouri's Murphy
families. There are several additions I still need to make, but I haven't
sent this out in a while and wanted to give everyone a chance to review what
has already been entered.

If there's a (Mrs) in front of the name, then the woman married into the

Name: Charles Murphy
1900 Aurora census. He was living with Sylisester Houchin.
Others living in the household were; Josephine, Alta E., Mary Collins age
48, Charles age 10, Sarah Houchin and George Houchin. Looks like the family
came from Indiana. Sylisester was a Day Laborer. Also, in Aurora I have
two John Murphy's listed; John W. Murphy, age 49 and wife Mary J. and
Birton, Essie, Mollie A. and Edgar. Also, there is a John Murphy age, 56
living with Geroua, wife and Inia, Thomas, Josephine, Robert, Bille, AGNES,
age 5 and Lirlu. These folks appear to be from Missouri with John's family
being from KY. I didn't find a Miria. John W. Murphy was a teamster.

Children: Olin, Grace, and Mary Elizabeth Murphy, who was born July 2, 1890
at New Haven, MO, died Jan 2, 1918 at New Haven
Notes: Clayton, Sarah, and Mary Elizabeth died of influenza. The parents
had lived at New Haven for 45 years. Clayton Murphy was a justice of the
peace, and member of Modern Woodmen of America. His wife was the 4th name on
the registry of the Methodist Church at New Haven, joining in 1906. They are
buried in the New Haven Cemetery. Mrs. Murphy and the daughter are buried in
a single grave. In 1918, Olin lived at Kohoka, MO and had also had
influenza, recovering in time to help with the funeral. The other sister,
Grace, also had influenza, but recovered! I have no further info on this
Murphy family but would like to know more.
