Hi Audrey -

Setting up the website is easy. I use FrontPage (by Microsoft) and have the
Murphy site set up where I can just type everything into MSWord and then
copy it into FrontPage. Where you run into difficulties is in buying the
software to publish the site and in finding a place to put the site once
you've got it ready to publish. I was lucky because my husband has an
internet company that he uses for engineering and international wind tunnel
information and I just "borrowed" a page from him.

I think you could probably get space for free on one of Rootsweb's sites.
Their main page has info on where to go to request space from them. They
may even have software available, I don't know. Mike won't let me give away
any more space on our site but if you have Word and just want us to convert
it to html and publish it for you, he'd do that for $5/month billed
quarterly. Like I said, Rootsweb has free space.

(Mike's internet business doesn't even cover its own operating expenses
yet - and that doesn't include any money for his time and work, which is why
he won't let me give away any more space.) I'd actually considered selling
space for families to post pictures of ancestors and such, but there are
other sites like MyFamily.com that will do that for free. Theirs just isn't
available to everyone without a password. I'm not sure what
familytreemaker's guidelines are but a lot of people have used them in the
past and I think they have space for pictures too.

Let me know if I can help you.

Glad you liked the site!
-Sharon
