Surname: Murphy, Murphrey

My great-great-grandfather was named William Murphy born 1846 in Greene
County, NC. There is only a million William Murphys. But this ones father
was Dixon Murphrey. Dixon was born in 1817, Greene County, NC, also I think.
Dixon is my brick wall. I can not find his parents. Can anyone HELP?????
