Hi again: Thanks to Sue for posting the VanHook website (and to Mark who sent it to me earlier). The Murphey data is incomplete (but after all, it is a VanHook website--not Murphey). I was hoping to find something about the VanHooks who migrated to Russell County, Virginia.

As some of my thoughts are -- a very thin thread is holding the train together. So here goes. Some of the Caswell Murphys migrated to Russell VA. Some of the VanHooks migrated to Russell VA. Some of the Caswell McFarlands migrated to Russell VA. Some of the Caswell Fullers migrated to to Russell VA. Some of the Murphys married McFarlands. Some of the VanHooks married Murpheys. Some of the Fullers married VanHooks . . .

Any ideas about what made Russell VA so hot? Was it just on the route to somewhere else (like KY)? Is any relationship to be found in these intermarriages and migrations?

So there ya go. Anyone familiar with the McFarlands, Fullers and others who appear regularly in our Murphey genealogy?
