Hello

Well, I'm going to toss my Alexander Murphy into the mix, and hope
somebody might see something.

So here goes. Alexander Murphy born 1830, Richland County Ohio,
(According to his death certificate) He is buried in Yates City, Knox County,
Illinois Cemetery with his wife Elizabeth. (Also according to his death
certificate) His name is on the head stone, but not his dates of birth or
death. I am a descendant of their son James Murphy and Mary Virginia who
resided in Douglas Illinois.

Now, in all my research, I have found very little to go on. First, there
was a Alexander Murphy who served in the 16th Vol. Infantry of Ohio who I
believe is in fact my Alexander. Secondly, in the marriage records, there is
a Alexander Murphy who married a Elizabeth Sturts on November 15, 1854 in
Richland County Ohio. (On the documents I have, Elizabeth Sturts was spelled
Elizabeth Sturbs, but it may be Elizabeth Sturges since I have yet to find a
"Sturbs" family).

There are Murphy Families in the Richland County Ohio area, and many
researchers have gone over this information, however, I have yet to find
parents that I can prove. Would love to know who his parents are. I only
recently found their marriage listing information in the records, but
unfortunately, no parents were listed.
