Otis,

I do not think we have the same James in our families..
here's the info o my James' wife and children:

James Albnso Murphy was born in 1797/1801 in South Carolina
(maybe N.C). He died on 21 Jun 1867(His gravestone says he died in 1870)
in Napoleon, Hancock Co, Mississippi. He was buried in Murphy Cemetery,
Napoleon, Hancock Co, Mississippi.

James married Marguerite L. Favre daughter of Simon Favre and Celeste
Rochon on 22 Apr 1832 in Pearlington, Hancock Co, Mississippi or Mobile,
AL. At anyrate, they appear in the 1940 census of Hancock County and
resided there and their children were born there. James was of the
Protestant faith, but Marquerite was Catholic. Their children were
raised in the protestant faith. Marguerite was born in Jan. 17 1812 and
baptized at Saint Louis Cathedral Mississippi. She died on 6 Feb 1908 or
1909 in Napoleon, Hancock Co, Mississippi. She was buried in Murphy
Cemetery, Napoleon, Hancock Co, Mississippi.

James and Marguerite had the following children:

F i. Mary Louise Murphy was born on 26 Apr 1833.

M ii. James Moses Murphy was born on 8 Aug 1835. He died
on 22 May 1916.

M iii. Samuel A. Murphy was born on 14 Nov 1838. He died on
31 Dec 1928.
(This is my great-grandfather)

M iv. Simon Favre Murphy was born on 14 Nov 1845. He died on
24 Nov 1919.

F v. Addie Murphy .

My great-grandfathher eventually moved to New Orleans. I think many of
them remained in the Gulf Coast area. I do have a list of who they
married. I have to look that up. Maybe that will help link me up with
those of you are are related to my James.

Thanks to everyone who haas been trying to help me with this!

Sharon Murphy
