Hi Francis,
I used to often confuse my William B. Murphey/Murphy with yours. Mine was
b. abt 1800 and died abt 1866, close in years. There's yet another William
B. Murphy/Murphey in NC & SC around those years.
Mark

Murphy listers....First let me congratulate you, Mark, on your willingness
to administer this list. Certainly wish you well with that undertaking.
Second, let me summarize my Murphy line: I've traced back to progenitor Wm
B
Murphy 1798-1865 b on Eastern Shores of Maryland--he mar 1816 Elizabeth
Hyatt in
Talbot Co, MD. They had five sons, John B, Ephriam Hyatt, William L,
Francis A & Isaac Thomas Murphy born in the 1820's. Those five sons all
married
into families from Harford Co, MD in the 1840's with name Brown, Barnes,
Sutton, Delmas & Bolton. By 1870 these sons & the parents, too, had all
migrated
into Louisville, KY area.
Following some ten years of steady research I've yet to learn name of
parents of Wm B Murphy, however big hunch on my part leads me to conclude
his
father was a Thomas Murphy/ey? I've no knowledge either where & when our
Murphy line came from Ireland. That backdrop leads me to my third item:
I'm
leaving for Dublin in less than two weeks. First visit!! One family rumor
claims we connect with the well known politician of Tammany Hall fame near
the
1900's time period; I've lost track as to where in Ireland that Charles
Francis Murphy's parents were from. He Charles was born in New York 'City,
circa
1850, however. Does anyone happen to know? I'd love to pursue such
slender
lead on my visit to Ireland. Thanks in advance for any tips/aid to my
query. Good luck to all in your research. Charles Francis Murphy from
near
Seattle.
