Hello,

To all of the various individuals that I am sending this information to.

with a specific connection in mind between

WILSON - McCRACKEN - PIERCE - HUNTER - BOWLES - MYRICK and others

that has secondary connection with following names.

See below.

Bellinda Myrick - Barnett

Re: DeLOACH/KUYKENDALL/HERRINGTON/HARRINGTON, GRANTHAM, AMMONS, PARKER,
MYRICK, PIERCE, HUNTER, BOWLES, STUCKEY, DICKENS/DICKINS, GRAVES, COPELAND,
LOTT, McCRACKEN/WILSON/SPRADLEY/MANNING and GIST/GUESS/WATTS

some of these names are included below in the information but some of them do
not appear and are behind the 'picture' in otherwise related connections but
are pertinent to this investigation.

Now, I realize that this is a separate part of the HERRINGTON/HARRINGTON
family group that connects back in time somehow to my HERRINGTON/HARRINGTON
family group and I am still trying to sort out PRECISELY HOW AND WHERE AND
WHEN as I am descended TWICE from my paternal 4th great grandfather:

William HERRINGTON/HARRINGTON, Sr.
......born: bef. 1755 in Craven County, North Carolina
......(said by some researchers to be the son of John HERRINGTON/HARRINGTON
.......and by some to be the son of Charles HERRINGTON/HARRINGTON, son of
.......John HERRINGTON/HARRINGTON, but I'm still confused there and the info
that
.......I did have on the specificity was lost in my computer crash awhile
back.)
and I descend from his sons:

Enoch HERRINGTON
.....born: abt. 1800 in New Hanover County, North Carolina
.....md: Harriet STUCKEY
......................born: abt. 1802 in Georgia
......................(whom I believe is descended as follows but not
........................including all dates, etc. right now)
......................mother: ??
......................father: John STUCKEY
.............................born: 1771 in York County, Virginia
.............................mother: Nancy Elizabeth HOWELL
....................................father: Edmund HOWELL
.........................................(believe this HOWELL lineage MAY
connect to
..........................................the HOWELL lineage that I descend
from in other
..........................................paternal lineage descending from
James HOWELL
..........................................and wife, Mary ?, whose daughter,
Mary HOWELL,
..........................................married (Colonel) Charles Lilburne
"Of the Byrd" LEWIS, Sr.,
..........................................(son of Elizabeth WARNER and John
"Councillor" LEWIS,
..........................................whose daughter, Mildred LEWIS,
married John HOWELL,
..........................................(son of the aforementioned Mary
LANE and James HOWELL,
..........................................sometimes shown as John/(Sir) John
HOWELL, in error,
..........................................but I believe that it is highly
likely that James HOWELL was
..........................................the son of (Sir) John HOWELL.)
Mildred LEWIS and John
..........................................HOWELL were the parents of Mildred
HOWELL and
..........................................she married William LIGHTFOOT, son
of Mary ARMISTEAD
..........................................and Philip (2) LIGHTFOOT, (son of
Alice CORBIN and
..........................................(Colonel) Philip (1) LIGHTFOOT, and
Alice CORBIN was
..........................................the daughter of Alice ELTONHEAD and
Henry CORBIN
..........................................who were the parents of Gawin
CORBIN who married
..........................................Jane LANE, (daughter of the
aforementioned Mary ?
..........................................and (Captain) John LANE, Mary LANE,
above.)
.............................father: Edmond STUCKEY, II
....................................mother: Katherine ?
....................................father: Edmond STUCKEY, I
.........................................mother: Ann(e) CARY
...............................................mother: Judith LOCKEY
.....................................................father:
...............................................father: Henry CARY
....................................................mother: Ann(e) TAYLOR
...........................................................father: (Captain)
Thomas TAYLOR
....................................................father: Miles/Mylles
CARY
and his brother:

William HERRINGTON, Jr.
.....born: abt. 1794 in New Hanover County, North Carolina
.....md: Cynthia "Sina" GRANTHAM
......................born: abt. 1800 in Robeson County, North Carolina
...................................on the South Carolina border
......................mother: Elizabeth AMMONS
..............................mother: Elizabeth PARKER
..............................father: John (2) AMMONS
...................................born: abt. 1775 in Robeson County, North
Carolina
......................father: Richard GRANTHAM, Jr.
.............................mother: ??
.............................father: Richard GRANTHAM, Sr.
....................................(of Robeson County, North Carolina)
whose daughter, Phoebe Catherine HERRINGTON, born: April 1834/1836, married
William H. "Billy" MYRICK, born: 1827 in Jones County, (later Jasper Co.,)
Mississippi, who was the son of William MYRICK, born: abt. 1788/1790 and
probably in South Carolina, but the juries still out, and he was probably the
son of (Colonel) James MYRICK, born: abt. 1745/bet. 1740-1760,, and his wife:
Mary BROOKER, born: bet. 1740-1760, (daughter of (Reverend) John BROOKER,
(wondering if his family may be found under the names of BOOKER, BROOKES,
ROOKER, RUCKER, anybody got a clue?)

And William H. "Billy" MYRICK's mother and the wife of William MYRICK was the
woman named Elizabeth PIERCE, born: 1790 in 96th District, South Carolina,
that we believe was the daughter of Hugh PIERCE, (RS,) born: abt. 1749/1751
in Frederick County, Virginia, (where around the same time my paternal 5th
great grandfather, (Major) Samuel EARLE who had been born in abt. 1692 in
Westmoreland Co., VA, was being elected to the House of Burgesses from
Frederick Co., VA,) and Hugh PIERCE, may have been a twin brother of a Daniel
PIERCE, born: abt. 1751 in Frederick Co., VA, (son of Elizabeth ? and
Richard PIERCE, immigrants.)

Now, the mother of the aforementioned Elizabeth PIERCE and wife of Hugh
PIERCE, (RS,) born: abt. 1749/51 in Frederick Co., VA, was named Sofia
HUNTER, (Cherokee, daughter of father: BOLD HUNTER, aka "Towayello," born:
abt. 1750 in North Carolina, and mother: BEAVER TOATER, aka TOTER, aka
"Toyaleese/To-wa-yeh-leesa," who is found on the 1835 Cherokee rolls in
Georgia with sons, Jim TOATER, Light TOATER and Hog TOATER and she is found
mentioned as a land owner in the book, "CHEROKEE PLANTERS OF GEORGIA."

Hugh PIERCE and wife, Sofia HUNTER also had a son named George PIERCE who
married Elizabeth McCRACKEN, (daughter of Elizabeth WILSON and David
McCRACKEN, (RS.) These families connect with the DeLOACH and KUYKENDALL,
(various spellings,) families from North Carolina through South Carolina,
Alabama, Georgia and into Mississippi and Texas....now there are probably
other states where some of their descendants were as well which may connect
with some of the info that I am sending over.

There is a roll range of information that I am investigating along with
others, some of you that I am writing as well, and part of the information
has led me to believe that the aforementioned Cherokee father of Sofia
HUNTER/Mrs. Hugh PIERCE, who was named BOLD HUNTER, (Sofia's mother was
BEAVER TOATER,) (and BOLD HUNTER was born: abt. 1750 in North Carolina,) may
be the same man also named BOLD HUNTER who was also named John BOWLES at
birth in abt. 1750 in North Carolina.

This aforementioned John BOWLES, at the age of 12 years old, witnessed the
killing of his father, ? BOWLES, and, possibly, his mother as well, it's not
certain. His mother, name unknown/??/Mrs. John BOWLES, was Cherokee and his
father is said in information that I usually see is mentioned as being of
Scottish descent.

By the age of 14 years, this John BOWLES is said to have killed the 2 men
that had killed his father/parents and then later on, not sure on precise
dates, left North Carolina and later on is found in various states as he led
a group of his Cherokee family group reaching Missouri and after a few years
left after the great earthquake of 1811 and going into Arkansas where they
stayed until about 1819 when they went into East Texas eventually settling in
the Van Zandt and Rusk Counties area.

On July 16, 1839, the aforementioned John BOWLES died. He was also known as
BOLD HUNTER/DUWALI/D'WALI/THE BOWL/Chief John BOWLES and was the Chief of the
Arkansas Cherokee and Chief of the Texas Cherokee and there are some that
called him "The Cherokee Moses." He died in the last Battle of the Texas
Cherokee tribe as the government of Texas attempted to take back the land
which had previously been given to them by Sam HOUSTON, (also an adopted
member into the Texas Cherokee tribe and a friend of Chief John BOWLES/BOLD
HUTNER/DIWALI.

There is a good deal of circumstantial evidence suggesting that our BOLD
HUNTER, born: abt. 1750 in North Carolina, who died in Texas, (believed to be
the father of Sofia HUNTER/Mrs. Hugh PIERCE,) is the same BOLD HUNTER as the
man who was also named Chief John BOWLES/BOLD HUNTER/DUWALI/D'IWALI.

Chief John BOWLES died July 16, 1839 near current day Canton, Van Zandt
County, Texas.

Sofia HUNTER/Mrs. Hugh PIERCE died in 1849 in Rusk County, Texas, the
neighboring county of Van Zandt County.

In the information immediately below, (which is shown more fully further
below,) there is the name of Martha WILSON who married Drury HARRINGTON,
(wondering if this Martha WILSON is related to the WILSON family that married
with Elizabeth WILSON to David McCRACKEN and their daughter, Elizabeth
McCRACKEN, who married George PIERCE, (son of Hugh PIERCE, (RS,) and Sofia
HUNTER,) (parents of my Elizabeth PIERCE, born: 1790 in 96th District, South
Carolina, who married William MYRICK, born: abt. 1790 in South Carolina?,
whose son, William H. "Billy" MYRICK, born: 1827 in Jones Co., (later Jasper
Co.,) Mississippi, married Phoebe Catherine HERRINGTON, born: April
1834/1836, were the parents of Calvin Pierce "Callie" MYRICK, born: 1858 in
Jasper Co., MS, who married his 3rd cousin, Harriet Katherine "Hattie"
HERRINGTON/HARRINGTON, born: 1868 in MS, prob. Covington Co., (daughter of
Rebecca Jane "Jane" DICKENS/DICKINS, aka DICKERSON/DICKSON, born: 1828 in
MS, (daughter of Catherine GRAVES, born: 1800 in GA, (daughter of Nancy ?
and William W. GRAVES, born: 1769/1770 in Georgia, (son of Nancy COPELAND
and James GRAVES, (descended it is believed by recent DNA testing from
Francis GRAVES, son of (Captain) Thomas GRAVES,))) and Rebecca Jane
DICKENS/DICKINS' husband, Isham Daniel HERRINGTON, aka Isom Daniel
HARRINGTON, born: December 1811 in Covington Co., MS, (son of Harriet
STUCKEY and Enoch HERRINGTON, (as seen above,) with Enoch HERRINGTON and
brother, William HERRINGTON, Jr. being the sons of William HERRINGTON, Sr.,
born: bef. 1755 in Craven Co., NC.

I'm trying to further understand the exact connection between this HARRINGTON
family group mentioned below and that of my William HERRINGTON, Sr. mentioned
above. In addition, I would like to establish any connection with the WILSON
family that married into this Philomon/Philemon HARRINGTON family and that
WILSON family that married into the PIERCE - MYRICK family that married into
the aforementioned HERRINGTON/HARRINGTON - STUCKEY - GRANTHAM -
DICKENS/DICKINS family group.

Also, noting that one of the places that the Cherokee group of Chief John
BOWLES was said to have been at one point in time before 1819 was Tennessee:

004 59 59 Harrington Philomon 36 M Tenn b.
c1814

c1845
Harrington Benjamin 2 M Tenn b.
c1848

NOTE: This is Philomon, son of Drury, and wife Martha
Wilson.

Regarding the following information in this HARRINGTON family out of North
Carolina is that they are also shown with a TUCKER, (I also descend from
Rachael TUCKER, born: abt. 1765 in North Carolina, who married Ripley
COPELAND, Sr., (RS,) born: abt. 1761 in North Carolina, and they lived in
Sumter Co., SC, with their daughter, Nancy COPELAND marrying Howell LEWIS,
born: bet. 1782-1788 in Granville Co., NC. And, remembering above that
there is the Mary COPELAND who married James GRAVES,

c1846
Harrington Mary J. 1/12 F Tenn b.
c1850

NOTE: This is Dempsey, son of William E. and Elizabeth
McCaleb
Harrington.

And in the above information regarding the HARRINGTON family with the name of
Hiram that shows up in our McCARTY lineage...don't know that there is a
connection here but just looking for all of the 'little' and 'BIG'
connections. And in the aforementioned information regarding the:

<<NOTE: To 1860 Van Zandt Co, Texas. I think this is Robert Harmon
Harrington and his sister Elizabeth, children of
Philomon
and Frances Harmon Harrington, and Robert's son Hiram.>
>

The reason that this catches my attention is not only does this HARRINGTON
family have a WILSON connection that was from South Carolina and the
HARRINGTONs also started out in North Carolina and my HERRINGTON/HARRINGTON,
MYRICK and PIERCE families are known to have been in North Carolina and South
Carolina with all of them probably having been in Virginia prior to that as
we are quite sure that our MYRICK family group was in Virginia before North
Carolina and know that the PIERCE family was in Frederick County, Virginia
where my EARLE family was. My LOTT, HATTEN/HATTON, SLAUGHTER, McDONALD,
CROUCH families were all in North Carolina along with many others including
the WATTS that married into the LOTT.

and

<<18 vi. Robert Harrington was born in Chatham County, North Carolina 1797.
Robert died after 1846. He married Sallie Anderson in Hickman County,
Tennessee, after 1812. See article under his brother Dempsey Harrington.>>

The name of ANDERSON appears her with another part of the HARRINGTON family
and there is ANDERSON family that married into the LOWE and MYRICK and,
probably, BENNETT family with the marriage of the 1st born son of Elizabeth
PIERCE and William MYRICK who was named either Aquilla or James MYRICK, born:
prob. abt. 1814 and may have been born in Georgia or South Carolina.

and

<<19 vii. Mary "Polly" Harrington(1952) was born in Chatham County, North
Carolina 1798. Mary died before 1840 in Hickman County, Tennessee. She
married Enos Coleman in Hickman County, Tennessee, March 1814.>>

And the name of COLEMAN comes into our HERRINGTON/HARRINGTON lineage with the
marriage of Mrs. Sarah E. COLEMAN as the 2nd wife, (after the death of
Rebecca Jane "Jane" DICKENS/DICKINS, aka DICKSON/DICKERSON, born: 1828 in
MS, died: 1893/1894,) to my paternal 2nd great grandfather, Isham Daniel
HERRINGTON, aka Isom Daniel HARRINGTON, born: December 1828 in Covington
Co., MS, (son of Enoch HERRINGTON, born: abt. 1800 in New Hanover Co., NC,
(son of Wm., Sr., born: bef. 1755 in Craven Co., NC,) and Isham's mother,
Harriet STUCKEY.)

In addition, there are 2 other times that the COLEMAN name reaches into our
family. 1st is the name of COLEMAN, as in Moranda COLEMAN, that is seen for
the name with which my paternal great grandmother, Rachael Moranda
"Randa/Randy" LEWIS, born: abt. 1851 in Jones Co., MS, married both known
husbands, Wesley BRIGHT and Spencer B. PARKER but we don't know where the
name of COLEMAN came for her in this regard. The name of COLEMAN is found
connected to the many families that she descends from but don't know if this
particular instance from where.

Rachael Moranda "Randa/Randy" LEWIS, born: abt. 1851 in Jones Co., MS, was
the daughter of Harriett ELLZEY, born: 1824/1824 in ?/prob. SC, (daughter of
Mary COLLINS?, (parents: ??,) prob. from SC, and husband, Evan ELLZEY, from
SC,) and John LEWIS, born: abt. 1820 in Jones Co., MS, (son of Nancy
COPELAND, (dau of Rachael TUCKER, born: abt. 1765 in NC, and husband, Ripley
COPELAND, Sr., (RS,) born: abt. 1761 in NC, lived in Sumter Co., SC,
(believed by some to be the son of Dorothy RIPLEY and Nicholas COPELAND,
descended from 2 other Nicholas, one thought to be John Nicholas, Joseph and
Lawrence COPELAND,) and by others to be the son of Dorothy RICKETTS and
Nicholas COPELAND, descended from William COPELAND.) In the RIPLEY and
COPELAND scenario, (can't remember if it's in the RICKETTS and COPELAND or
not,) there is descent from Aaron LOTT and his daughter, Nancy LOTT, whom are
related somehow, I believe, to my LOTT lineage from John LOTT, born: prob.
bet. 1680-1700, in Isle of Wight Co., VA, we believe, that was the father of
John (2) LOTT, born: bt. 1700 - 1720 in NC, who married Elizabeth JOYNER,
born: Abt. 1720 in Isle of Wight Co., VA.

1) Lurany Harrington, dau. of Philomon Harrington and Frances Harmon: Full
name - Luraney Susanna, b. 2/18/1790, m. James McCable (this probably should
be McCaleb) and Younger Neal, Jr.

2) William Harrington, b. 8/5/1784 Martha Fowlkes Tarkington, Mary
Catharine O"Quinn, and Ann Elizabeth McCaleb.

I 'think' I know what is correct. I just need assurances!
I have been trying for months to get this family in some kind of order for
my children. Must admit I am almost to the point of saying "Enough!"

Thanks for any help.

Hi Betty,
Luranny Harrington didn't marry the McCaleb. She married Younger Neal.
This can be proven by the estate records of Philemon Harrington.

William Harrington married (1) Ann Elizabeth McCaleb and (2) Mary Catherine
O'Quinn (Have also found just Quinn). Martha Fowlkes Tarkington is a lady
from Union City, Obion Co. Tennessee that sent out a lot of Harrington
information over the years. She is still alive. I was in Obion Co. just a
couple of weeks ago and talked with her on the phone.

Hope this helps.

Wanda Head

Dear Wanda,

Apparently, from what I can find, the aforementioned
Luranny/Laranny HARRINGTON not only married
Younger NEAL but, also, married James McCABLE,
obviously related to the Elizabeth McCABLE that
married Laranny/Luranny's brother, William HARRINGTON,
as shown below the next message to Bettye.

Sincerely,

Bellinda Myrick - Barnett

Dear Bettye,

Hi. Regarding the information you are researching on:

1) Lurany Harrington, dau. of Philomon Harrington and Frances Harmon: Full
name - Luraney Susanna, b. 2/18/1790, m. James McCable (this probably should
be McCaleb) and Younger Neal, Jr.

research, I have found the following:
