Hello Chris,

M dad is Jposeph Lee Gouer, son of Hobart Gouer and Reba Grace Queen. My grandmother was the daughter of Arrnet Queen and Emma Simons Queen. Arrent Queen was the son of Jasper Queen and Laverna Johnson. Jasper Queen was the son of Levi C. Queen and Elizabeth Greathouse Queen. Levi C. Queen was known as "Dunk", and he was the son on Levi Queen and Catherine Coburn (the widow Lowther) Queen. Levi Queen was the son of Charles Queen Jr. and Mary Haley Queen. Charles Queen Jr. was the son on Charles Queen and Cuba Frazee, he was born on the origional homestead on Gnatty creek in 1752, For seven generations my direct decendents lived on that land. When my grandmother Reba Grace Queen married Hobart Gouer, who also lived on Gnatty Creek and Peel Tree where his family roots ran deep for several generations, they left the valley and moved to Philippi to raise a family. I'm lucky to come from a family that lived next to the land. My father has shown me the old Homestead, and to!
ld me the stories that have been handed down in our family about Charles MacQueen, the Scottsman. We have visited the graves of every single Queen listed except Charles Sr. I'm still looking for him, I believe he is burried on the hill over looking the homestead. There is a small family plot inside a fenced pasture, but the gate is locked on the road up to it and I'm not sure if he is there or not. Most of the land has been strip mined, but thats a nother tragic story for another time. The top ridge above the farm still has old growth trees and is very rocky and creigy, the perfict spot for the Scottsman to rest, maybe I'll find him there.

Who are your folks and how do we tie together as family? I have traced my roots back nine generations, and I'm not done yet. Hope to hear more from you.

Suzie Gouer Ball
