Is anyone aware of the existence or possible whereabouts of a crew list
for the barque Philip Laing on her voyage from Greenock (Scotland) to
New Zealand and return in 1847/1848?

My G.Grandfather, William B. Ward was said to have been a cabin boy on
this voyage. Research in the PRO in London has found him as a seaman on
ships around England in 1855 and 1856 including the PHILIP LAING on her
1856 voyage to NZ, but there appear to be no record of the 1847 voyage.
Are there any other repositories for crew lists of British ships?

Any help would be appreciated.
