Hello,

I do not know the name of the ship only the captains name ROTHWELL c 1897. I believe he was a captain of a British ship that frequently sailed to Quebec. His wife ( Eleanor Louise McKenzie) died aboard ship while giving birth to my grandmother, March 12, 1897 five days sailing from Quebec.

I understand that the St. Lawrence was closed during the winter months so probably docked in Newfoundland or Halifax. ROTHWELL died aboard ship in the port of Montreal or Quebec City c 1897-1915. With so much happening their must be records to unfold somewhere. My question is the Lloyd's list the same as the Lloyd's register of Captain's registery and would you have the address? What information do they require, and how is payment made. All I know is his name, no orgin of birth or where they were married.
This is my first posting and hope is follows correct procedure.
Thank you for any information, Burnie
