Hello Ramona,

The "Arosa Star" was built by the Blenheim Shipbuilding Corp, Quincy, Mass.
in 1930. She was a 9,070 gross ton ship, overall length 466ft x beam 59.8ft,
one funnel, one mast, single screw and a speed of 15 knots. There was
passenger accommodation for 38-1st and 768-tourist class.
Launched on 24th Sep.1930 as the "Borinquen" for the New York and Porto Rico
Line, she went to the Bull Line in 1949 and was renamed "Puerto Rico". In
1954 she was sold to the Arosa Line, registered in Panama, rebuilt and
renamed "Arosa Star". She started her first Bremen - Quebec voyage on 18th
May 1954 and in Nov.1958 made her last voyage between Bremen, Quebec and New
York. On 21st Nov.1958 she commenced a New York - West Indies cruise and was
arrested for debt at Bermuda on 7th Dec.1958. In 1960 she went to Panamanian
owners and was renamed "Bahama Star" and in 1969 became the "La Jenelle" for
the Western Steamship Co. Wrecked off the California coast on 13th Apr.1970,
she was scrapped where she lay. [North Atlantic Seaway by N.R.P.Bonsor,
