Hello Deanna. Here are the details for four of your five ships from the
Lloyd's Register:
THOMAS WOOD
Master: Captain Gadd
Rigging: Bark; sheathed in felt and yellow metal in 1862; copper fastened
Tonnage: 520 tons.
Dimensions: 125 feet long, 28.6 foot beam and holds 18.9 feet deep.
Construction: 1859 by Austin in Sunderland.
Owners: Ritson & Co.
Home Port: Sunderland.
Voyage: sailed from Liverpool, destination not listed.
DANIEL RANKIN
Master: Captain A. Miller
Rigging: Ship; sheathed in felt and yellow metal in 1863; copper fastened;
iron beams.
Tonnage: 1,048 tons
Dimensions: 193.9 feet long, 34.6 foot beam and holds 22.8 feet deep.
Construction: 1858 in Dumbarton
Owners: W. Rankin
Home Port: Greenock
Voyage: sailed from the Clyde, bound for New Zealand
ESMERALDA
Master: Captain Meldrum
Rigging: Ship; sheathed in felt and yellow metal in 1865; fastened with
iron bolts.
Tonnage: 1,188 tons
Dimensions: 192 feet long, 35 foot beam and holds 22.8 feet deep.
Construction: 1856 in Quebec; repairs to damages in 1861
Owners: Cuthbert
Home Port: Greenock
Voyage: sailed from the Clyde, bound for Australia
ANNE ROYDEN
Master: Captain Affleck
Rigging: Ship; sheathed in yellow metal and partly in felt in 1863; copper
fastened.
Tonnage: 1,175 tons
Dimensions: 174.5 feet long, 35.5 foot beam and holds 22.5 feet deep.
Construction: 1856 by Royden & Sons in Liverpool
Owners: Royden & Co.
Home Port: Liverpool
Voyage: sailed from Liverpool, bound for India.
