Subject: [Mariners-L] Ship ROBERT L. LANE - 1855
Date: Tue, 4 May 1999 16:47:26 +0200
Hello everyone
Could somebody give me a description of this ship ( and to which line it
belonged) please ? The only info I could find is that it had the "Crane's
self-acting chain stoppers".
As per Vol. 9 of the Germans to America the ROBERT L. LANE arrived in port
of New York on 12 July 1855, from Havre. My questions :
- When did it start in Havre (not mentioned in Germans to America) ?
- Where did this very voyage start (maybe Bremen or Antwerp) ?
- Did the ROBERT L. LANE continue from New York to New Orleans after 12 July
1855 ?
Thanks a lot for your reply.
Chris
