I'm new and this is my first message. Here goes.......
This ship, De Vergulde Otter, traveled from Holland to New Amsterdam in
April, 1660 with about 22 passengers aboard (including my 8th great
grandfather, Phillipe
Cassier).
My questions:
Does anyone know what this ship might have looked like?
With only 22 passengers aboard, did it also deliver or pick up cargo?
Is there any site with history of this ship?
Any information about this ship or ships like it would really be
appreciated. I've found a few pictures of Dutch ships, but I don't know
if this would look like those I've found or not.
Would it have been like any of these?
