Hi,
I've just read a query on the East Anglia list, which I think someone on
"Mariners" might be able to help with. If so, please reply to me and I will
pass any information back to the East Anglia list. Here is the message,
which I stress is not my own, but came from someone in New Zealand:

"My grandmother was Martha Rebecca EARLE or Rebecca Martha EARLE , depending
which certificate she signed, born approx 1881. Her father was George Robert
EARLE a fisherman.Mother not known yet.She married my grandfather George
WILLIAMS (born Watford, Herts), 14th February 1905 at All Saints, Woodford
Wells,Essex. Died 1962 Benfleet Essex. She had two sisters who went to
Canada when young, one married an owner of an airline taxi service. She also
had a brother George EARLE who was a ferryman at Gorlestone Suffolk. George
WILLIAMS had a brother who was drowned in a lifeboat accident near
Caister-on-sea. Is there anyone out there researching these families ? Does
anyone know if there are any fishermen lists ? Or lifeboat accident lists ?
Any help gratefully received."

I am sure the person who sent the above to the East Anglia list will be most
grateful to anyone who can help.
