Dear Dave and Listers
This cemetery is the municipal burial ground in Gravesend, Kent, which is on
the Thames. Unfortunately, if your ancestor died at sea he is unlikely to
have been buried here. I imagine these people all died on boats which were
in the docks, or very close to shore. I don't know about the people who are
recorded as "drowned" - if they knew the person's name, etc, why on earth
didn't they put where they from? I'm sorry I am unable to supply further
details, as I only have these indexes. If you find a match you will have to
order the death cert and that should give you more details. For ancestors
who died (and were therefore buried) at sea, you have to view the records at
the PRO. If you visit their website you can download the leaflet which will
help you far more than I can.
Hope this helps

Dear Kate:
I noted with great interest the following cemetery list. Can you give
me some more information, about where the cemetery is, whether these folks
died at sea etc?
I am looking for information about my great-grandfather, Richard
Conley/Connelly, who came from Ireland sometime in the 1850's. His
father,
according to the family story, died and was buried at sea.
Thank you for your time and attention.
