Hi All,
I'm coming to you to ask about when certain US Naval hats may have been
worn. I have been corresponding with people who have pictures of
relatives from the 1899-1903 era. On the more formal pictures the
flat-on-top with ship's names around the base were worn, whereas in an
informal picture the white hat close to today's style was worn.

Would you know if both hats coexisted during that era. I would be
interested in anything you may have to offer.
