Nancy,

I know it is a long shot, but might your husband's HOGG family have included
a Captain Thomas E HOGG (said to have been of English descent and/or born in
Baltimore, MD), active during the American Civil War, who, in November 1863,
pirated the American schooner, JOSEPH L GERETY (GERRITY), off the coast of
Matamoros, Mexico, bound for New York with 122 bales of cotton, which he,
together with his crew of 5 other pirates, then sailed to Belize, Bruitish
Honduras, where they disposed of the cargo? If so, I would love to hear from
you.
