Subject: [Mar] AURORA (Of Hull,U.K.) - MELLICITE (Of Savannah,U.S.)

Some time ago Ted Finch was kind enough to help me with info re' the loss of the emigrant ship AURORA of Hull,U.K,in May 1853, for which I was most grateful.
Ted happened to mention that survivors were picked up by the Volusia of Belfast . I have since discovered that they were subsequently transferred to the MELLICITE of Savannah,U.S,on the 27th May, & landed in LIVERPOOL,U.K, in early June.
I can't help feeling that mention of this disaster & the landing of the survivors, would have been reported in the Liverpool papers at the time. Is this likely?
Would anyone have any further information to offer on these events to help in my research?
Any help greatly appreciated.
Ken Pickering.
