Hi list , this is a first time request. I am not sure where else to turn.
A seaman left a will which describes him of the frigate or galley Charles,
and is dated to the last half of the 1600s. What size vessel would this
have been , presumably it would have been a warship ? would it have been
transatlantic ? or for coastal defence ? This is presumably one of the new
King Charles ll `s new navy. Any thoughts would be most welcome, thanks .
