THROSTLEGARTH 1895
O.N.105284, 1,566 gross tons, length 250.8ft x beam 36.3ft, single screw,
speed 11 knots. Built 1895 by Palmers Ltd, Newcastle (Yard No.698) for Rea
Steamship Co, Liverpool. 1910 sold to Soc. Anon Ilva, Genoa renamed ITU,
1919 sold to Lloyd Mediterraneo Soc. Italiana, Genoa, 1919 to Soc. Anon
Ilva, 1939 to Ruggiero & Co, Genoa, 1950 sold to Roberto Andalo, Naples
renamed PIETRO ANDALO, 1959 scrapped at Savona [Register of Merchant Ships
Completed in 1895 by Starke / Schell]

Rea SS Co formed in 1902 operated a fleet of coastal colliers, mainly out of
Cardiff and Northeast Coast coal ports to to France and other continental
ports. The fleet was absorbed by Cory Colliers in 1920.

A long lived ship!!
