Hi List,

Both the books I have on P.S.N.Co (Haws and Bonsor) state that the ORITA started her last voyage from Liverpool on 22.9.1927 and was then laid up until scrapped in 1931.

However I have just been shown a passenger list which shows that she definitely left Valparaiso on 20.4.1929. Either the 1927 date is wrong, or she was recommissioned in 1929, perhaps as a relieving ship?

Can anyone explain this please?
