I have a passenger list for the "TURKISH EMPIRE" listing just 3 people. The
ship arrived at Port Phillip on the 17th March 1870.
Captain was James H Barclay, tons per register 1501. From London with
voyage of 140 days.
Can anyone please tell me the background of this ship. With just 3
passengers it doesn't appear to be a "normal" immigration
journey. Was it British Merchant Navy?
Any help would be appreciated.
