This is almost certainly the vessel built for G & J Burns in 1839 and made
available to Cunard in 1840.

MARGARET

Built by Caird & Co of Greenock 700 tons gross (although other sources quote
370 register tons). 185' x 26'. Paddle with side lever engines 230hp. Wooden
construction.

Sold out of service in 1856 and converted to coal hulk.

Source Merchant Fleets in Profile Vol 2 and Catalogue of Early Steamships to
1840.
