(1) but I have my ancestor John Thompson in the
1901 census on the ship Parkmore berthed at Bramleymoore Dock in
Liverpool. Can Someone help me with this search of the Parkmore. It
states in 1901 that the home port was Belfast Official No. 83926
Tonnage 122 Steamer Coasting. I thankyou for taking the time to

Iron screw steamer.
Built 1880 by McIlwaine & Lewis , Belfast.
289 GRT.
157.5ft L, 21.6B, 10.8ft D.
One deck.
Compound steam engine and one single ended boiler operating at 80 lbs/sqin
pressure , supplied by the shipbuilders.
Owners : Antrim Iron Ore Co.Ltd., 1 Victoria Chambers, 4 Victoria Street,
Belfast.
Port of Reg : Belfast.
Antrim Iron Ore Co Ltd owned four mines all in Co Antrim
Barard Mine at Cushandall from which they mined alum clay (bauxite)
and
Glenarm, Parkmore and Rathkenny mines from which they worked iron ore.
They also imported coal into Ireland
The company records are held at Public Record Office of Northern Ireland, 64
Balmoral Drive, Belfast.
