Hi Rosi

I doubt he would have been in too much trouble if he was allowed to
transfer to the Coast Guard - I have a feeling that due to the nature
of the work only personnel of good character were normally selected
for the Coast Guard !

Where surnames are concerned it wasn't unusual, if maybe they or their
parents or grand parents had aliases, for them to change them as
circumstances demanded or as they preferred ?

From a quick look across Lyme Bay I can tell you that the sun is now
shining on Bridport, albeit a little weak and wintry.
