There is a pertinent file in the National Archives/PRO

ADM 1/12282 Actions with the Enemy: HMS FAROUK (Q Ship) - destroyed by
enemy submarine - awards to personnel - 1942/43

No doubt there will be some operational records, but I will have to leave
others more expert to advise on that.
