Hello everyone, I have been lucky enough to get the CR10 record (including photograph) for my grandfather who died in 1940.
What does all this mean on the reverse is as listed: Columbia 25-9-20 and on the next line: 82012 30-3-21
Now this would have made him two weeks past his 16th birthday if 25-9-20 is a date and I have entered the name Columbia into google but am not sure if I'm getting the right sites for merchant seamen. Also what would the second line have stood for - another ship's number and a date?
Any help from you wonderful people would be gratefully appreciated.
Many thanks
Kim
