Hi All,
I'd like to welcome two new members of our Clan Mccall. MJ McCall Martin's
family came from Inver parish in County Donegal, Ireland. There family name
was McCahill in Ireland ,but McCall in USA. The grandparents moved to Selma,
Alabama about 1906.
Robert Phillips' grandmother was Christina A McCall and she is a descendent
of Charles Mccall and Celete Ann Williams. Welcome!
We received an invite to the Celtic Highland Games in Winston, Oregon on
August 17th and 18th. Maybe George would like to visit Oregon this Summer to
wave our banner. Robert Phillips has offered to help support any Scottish
activities in the Houston Area. So maybe Beckie or Tim can use some help.
James and I talked today about finding out more about retired Major
Robert McCall of Black Watch. He may qualify for a three feathered Clan
McCall Chieftain, if he is interested. His Family Tree is registered in
Burke's Gentry and goes back to Patrick McCall, grandson of Gilbert McCall of
Makcaulis Messenger -landis, now under Duke named Guffolkland. This tree can
be extended back to the Kings of Connacht as shown in our website.
Chieftain Peter McCall has stated that five families of McCall originally
settled Dumfries Area. I haven't received the details, but suspect that the
McCalls in Wigtown may have moved to Loch Fyne and some McCalls of
Guffolkland moved to Ulster in 1608-1610 , and more to Glasgow and to Philly
in 1700, The McCalls of Ulzieside moved to NZ and Australia, The Mccalls of
Glencairn/Penpont moved to States and McCalls of Auchentaggart/Wanlockhead
moved to States and England, and McCalls of Dumfries moved to States. Peters
family lived in Ayrshire, Shire north of Dumfries .
Any NFL players out there that would like to be on our Tug of War team?
Be Proud of Your Heritage,
Ron McCall
