Hi Nancy
In reading your last email you refer to the McWilliams of Pa. I am
particularly interested in one family of Northumberland County, Pa/
circa 1770-1800.
A Robert McWilliams/McQuilliams, wife's name Elizabeth, who was killed
in the battle of Gulph Mills during the Rev. War had 3 children. It is
the names of those children I am particularly in terested in.
>From what records we do have, a John McWilliams, wife's name Jane
Orr???? and family came over from Ireland about 1760-1770, members of
that family were James, Hugh, & Robert. All with offspring prior to the
war.
Hugh and Robert were killed in the Rev. War. We believe that members of
this family migrated, first to York County Pa, then to the Carolinas,
Spartanberg County and Chester County in SC and Morgan County NC.
Does anybody know of any of the McWilliams that may have migrated from
Pa. to the Carolinas shortly after the War.
John McQuilliams
