You may be right that not all Blacks are descended from slave owners, but
there were hundreds of thousands that appear in censuses as Mulatto, so
white and black miscegenation was more common than most people want to
admit. There were free blacks and whites mixing then, and I would not be
quick to dismiss out of hand that there were some slave owners and slaves
having children as well.
