Hi Guys!

IF 'ungeon' was a word in French it would be pronounced something like:

"OHN-ZHAY-OHN" which sounds nothing at all like Muh-lunge-uhn.:-) The way
that Melungeon is pronounced is nothing like the sound of any French word
that I know but of course am also not an expert on French. It was my minor
when I was in college many years ago!! So, I, too have forgotten a lot. But
I think a French person would pronounce the word as it is now written as
Meh-lunzh-on with the 'on' part sliding into the zh sound of the previous
syllabel and sounding like the first syllable of onion except the n would be
nasal.
