Heartache ... and maybe some deep down, suppressed anger as well. I
wonder that her probable burning of all these records wasn't to her some
ceremonial way of saying "good bye and good riddance."

No, I'm willing to discuss the whole situation here, where we're among
family who share an understanding of what might have lead to this
behavior. Perhaps further publishing the story would reach some one
listerner who had the information to help us, but that's probably the
very thing she was afraid would happen, and so, since I suspect she still
has living family somewhere in this country who would not want their
ethnic origins broadcast or they would have been in touch already, I'll
try to keep the story here, just among us ....
