Subject: [Melungeon] Snakes

Here in Tn. We only have the Rattler, the Copperhead & the Water
Moccasin/ Cotton mouth ,which is harmful, and that is entirely 3 too
many. I am petified of any kind /shape /size. I will NOT even handle a
night crawler to fish with.! I was raised in the valley, and also
remember us sweeping the yard, my grfather made me my own little broom
to "help" sweep. This was at the house where i was born in '37.I
remember sitting in the corner of the kitchen one day playing, and
feeling something poking against my bottom. Got up and looked and there
was a Big snake coming up thru a hole in the floor. We didn't have rugs
in those days ,except small hand made ones. Needless ,to say i let out a
scream and my granny killed the snake, which was just an old black
snake. There can still have all the room they want and any area. I'll
gladly get out of their way. After i grew up and married, came in from
work one day and there was a black snake lying in my kitchen. Moved
before dark to another house. Probally took the darn thing with me, but
never saw it again. Thank goodness.
