But the gap in facts is quite a chasm to leap. Most cultures have some
sort of way to manage these types of "crimes". Many cultures had other
options besides a death penalty...otherwise revenge killings can overtake
the positive elements of society. Just take a look at the Middle East
today...revenge runs rampant.

One thing in my mind that bodes well for the likelihood of Sephardic Jews
being in America is the presence of "Peace Towns". These were towns of
refuge just like the ones mentioned in the Old Testament. If you had
accidentally killed somebody you went to one of these towns and no one
could
exact vengeance on you. These towns were noted by Mooney, and Adair, and
were found among the Cherokee, Creek, Seneca. Adair says they were found
among most Indian tribes.
Now I know there are coincidences with different cultures, by I have a
very hard time believing this is one, especially when we have a working
theory of entry for Sephardic Jews among the Spanish, and ultimately among
the Indians.
