All these guys were from the Wise Co. Scott Co area and before this
Cherokee territory and some other counties in NC

maternal side
MINOR,ROBERTS,SIZEMORE,GOINS,WALLEN,RODGERS,GREEN,
HAGEY,BINGHAM,SEARS,STAMPER,ANDERSON,MEECE,JONES,MOUNCE,COX AND OTHERS

Interesting enough, my father whose family I always thought was only
from Ohio, which is where he met my mom and got married , and were all
Anabaptists, told me as he has done extensive work on the family tree
that he has connections to WV the MOORES and FULKERSONS.

One of my elusive lines is Betty Binghams daughter, my
grgrgrgrandmother was Lydia Hagey who was adopted by Bettys second
husband Owen Sizemore. Her father was said to be Cherokee (I know, the
cherokee story, but since her mother and her stepfather were both of
NA extraction, it is more than possible) and was murdered when she was
a child. Would love to know if anyone is familiar with this surname or
any possible spellings.

As far as family stories and names given, my grgrgrgrandfather Zach
Minor was called DAISY, now why do you suppose he chose or was given
this name, I guess back then a mans masculinity was not in question
LOL>

Never heard the Indian princess story, my grandpaw just always told me
that we were Cherokee, Blackfoot and as my grandmother said, one with
a weird name she could not remember, this is the one that I think will
take me somewhere. Her family was Black Dutch Irish Stampers and
Andersons.

MY family sotre as told to me by my cousin Bent as to where the first
Minor came from, Hezekiah, the first to show up in VA father of Zach.
The story goes he was a slave on a plantation, the owner was a young
woman by the name of Minor, or daughter of the current owner, and she
became enamoured and they ran off together as this was definetly a
no-no. If this were true I think it would be Hezekiahs parents as we
know Hezekiahs wife was Elizabeth Goins. Since Elizabeth was a FPC it
would only make sense that Hezekiah could be also. But, anyhow, an
interesting story to say the least :) It is the stuff romantic novels
are made of.
