What a neat response on and offline to my dog naming problem! Thank you, all!
Now this Gone to the Dogs name for our group, I suppose including both the
dogless and the dogged, and the undogly, just cracks me up!

Got more to tell the list. I noticed a strange, strong odor on the pooch.
He sleeps in my room and the first two nights I felt I was strangling with
asthma. Just figured it was one dog too many and that we'd have to take him
back; my son said it was my smoking. Neither of my sons smelled anything
like I did. The odor and the strangling have both pretty well gone. I
reckon those former owners wanted to make him look really good--and they
did--but I wonder if they put him through sheep dip. Yeah, I've smelled
sheep dip but don't remember what it was like.

For the record, I plead we're a well-balanced household. The cats sleep with
my son.
