Do these cousins include Rev. Doug Showalter?

I have four cousins that have been working on Showalter genealogy for the
past 25 years, they've traced our grandfather's family back to Switzerland
in the 17th century when the name was Schoenvalder. They've traced our
grandmother back to....our grandmother. She was adopted, but not legally,
into the Henry Burchard family. There are no records of her birth mother or
father, even though Henry was married to her mother. She died leaving my
grandmother, Anna, with two step parents. Some cousins say her real name
was Dabaco and she was Italian, others say they never heard that but that
she was Black Dutch.
