Some of the names I'm searching for:

Daniel Alexander Cox married Lucinda Jackson (b 1807 in NC) in Bartholomew Co, IN. I later found Lucinda Jackson receiving benefits as a Cherokee, and her son, Rufus Huit Cox, received benefits as a Miami Indian....so I assume Daniel Alexander was at least part Miami Indian.

They moved to Fulton Co, IN, where my ggrandfather, Alfred T. Cox was born. He married Florence Huldah Taylor. What I know about those two is that Alfred's mother was from NC; her parents were Hyram and Mary Whitaker-Jackson. Mary Whitaker is English/Irish -- that I know of -- was a Quaker doing work among the Cherokee (guess I can figure out how she met Hyram...); Mary is a direct descendent of Dr. Samuel Fuller of the Mayflower...and her ancestry included Canady (corrupted to Kennedy)...among others.

Of the Cox line, I know nothing beyond Daniel Alexander. I don't know where he was born, where they were from...nothing...although I have a sneaking suspicion his kin may have been from Kentucky (mostly because most Hoosiers are Kentuckians who didn't make it to Michigan, don't cha know? In fact, our state was put on hold long enough to sway votes -- we came within days of being with the Confederates).

I don't know anything about Daniel and Lucinda's other children. I do know that Alfred T and Florence had Catherine Ada, Harriette Lucinda (my grandmother), Mable, Grover and Alvin T. (who married a Miss Ball, had one son and died young -- in early 1900s).

Harriette Lucinda Cox married Monton H. Foss -- another frustrating family to find out about -- in Culver, IN. They had Veda Pearl, Vera, Lucinda (who died infancy), Helen and Russell Myrl.

After my grandmother's death (in fact, it appears that prior to her death, actually) my grandfather married my grandmother's widowed sister, Catherine Ada, called Ada. (She was meaner than a she bear with cubs!) Ada and Monton had Gordon...who's more than my dad's half brother, looked just like him, only real, REAL tall and thin, and married Lavonne Beavers during WWII.

My dad married Margaret Bruce Melvin Madden -- who was really named Eldenburg....oh, VERY l-o-n-g story! and is a Stewart, Gordon, MacPherson and Lamb(Campbell) via her mother -- got that? By this time, dad was back from being raised in Busby, MT (Crow/Cheyenne Indian reservation, and no, I have no clue how he got there....who was the Crow or Cheyenne???). He moved to Gary, IN, got a job thanks to his brother-in-law (who was white) and met and married my mom...first generation American...while dad's family met his family on the shores...

So, does anyone have anything that matches what I've given about my Cox, Jackson, Huit/Hewitt, Whitaker, Canady, Foss, Taylor (got nailed down), Hinton (got nailed down), Young, Hussey/Hershey/Hurshey/Hursey?
