Hey Jack, looking at the last part of this message thread, you stated
that only the 3 sons of your John Goins that came to Hawkins are
considered Melungeon by you. What makes them Melungeon and the others
not? I must have missed something.

One thing Y Crom DNA does prove- You can be a proven Melungeon
descendant and have a common ancestors who never came to America. And
here is another
exampl.e- My 8th generation grandfather John Goins (Died in Henry
County,
Va,.1801) he had 2 sons who remained in that area, two migrated to Ky
and then to Indiana, and 3 who came to Hawkins, now Hancock County, TN.
and was labeled Melungeon. I think only the 3 who came to Hawkins County
would be
Melungeons. Jack
