I suppose I am still confused. My ancestors go back to the 1600's in Isle of
Wight County, Virginia. But if they married someone from the Lost Colony of
Roanoke, would that not make their children Melungeon descendants? I have a
Varnado surname in my family tree dating back to the 1700's or early 1800's.
That's sure Spanish or Portugese, right?

Any comment would be appreciated.
