This was a great idea Brent, and thanks for the reposting. I think even
the old hats like myself need to be reminded that Plecker did not think the
Melungeons were just 4 names in Hancock county.
Although my people lived in Sneedville for over 100 years, I have not found
the 4 names on a very short list. I do however have many ancestors who's
names are found on the Plecker list, in the right place at the right time
Adams, Adkins, Bass, Roberts, Ramsey, Mays, Robinson, Sheppard, Johnson,
Thomas, and although not on the Plecker list, on the Hiengg web site, my
Ruben Lantern, who was a FPC
This was the best idea I have seen here in a long while
