I know of a case where a mixed Portugese man, was transported when the Ark of the Ark and Dove, stopped in Barbados before going onto Maryland this would have been the 1632 time period....I posted about this before on this forum this man was indentured to a Father ?White? I believe who was part of the colonizing party of Maryland....so there wasn't just English living in early Barbados.....who knows if those surnames you listed were "Pure" English people.

Hi Rea and List;
The first people living in Barbados were Indians as I pointed out in my email. The second group of settlers were from England. My reason for that Post was to show that the Sizemore's and Minors don't have to be Portuguese and or Indians just because some are recorded in Barbados records, nor does it mean they were white just because they had English names. If you are looking at the history of Portugal you will note that many nationalities lived there, It was ruled by the Moors for centuries. What color would a mixed Portuguese in 1632 have been, or what would his Y DNA Hapalogroup be, that's a question nobody can answer. The Y DNA test on a proven descendant of my gggg George Sizemore was Native American and to me this most likely rules out England and, or a Barbados person as George Progenitor. George may have only been 1/4 Indian, his total makeup may have included Spanish, Hebrew etc, etc. When I look at the DNA data bank I realize that my total makeup could!
possibly include all, or most of the known hapalogroups. Jack
