To be clear, this list has never split. New lists have been created from
time to time for various purposes, including Marie's and several others, but
subscriptions to this list have never dropped perceptibly as a result and
total M-list subscriptions have remained remarkably constant for years at
around 240. Of course people do come and go but the number in usually seems
to balance the number out.
> this list did joking teasing and etc.. Ex The old Ground hog who saw his
shadow or didn't Cleland will remember.. Don't know if Jack was around the
Deceased Jack was though.. We all had fun and researched also and Treated
people with respect, not put them down..Example is How DR Brent is treated,
I agree that Dr. Kennedy has been treated rather shabbily by a few people
here, but it always says more about them than it ever does about him, while
his affability and good humor and his calm, patient use of facts and logic
to makes his arguments always stand out in sharp contrast to emotional
attacks and vague innuendoes of his detractors.
> No matter if you don't like how he did his work deserves respect..
Everyone's work, however modest, deserves respect. And it has been the
treatment of people less able to defend themselves than the Brent Kennedy's
and Tim Hashaw's, etc., which has troubled me more. No one should ever be
afraid to post here, and do fear that had become the case for some.
>We all know Frank doesn't respect him,
On a forum of equals, such this, people tend to get as much respect as they
give.
> but that is wrong should be done privately.. If you don't like some one..
then tell them privately don't drag everyone into your war...That is
ridiculous...Enough said...Marie.

Mutual respect and civility in posting should indeed be the rule. However, I
think the battle has been won, for now. Suddenly the list does seem to be
back to its old self, as though someone has pulled back the drapes and
opened the windows to let in the fresh air and sunshine. Some may think I
should have done that as moderator, but though I fretted over it enough, the
truth is, opening the windows something the list had to do for itself and
it's up to the list to keep the windows open -- the most a moderator can
really do is to keep anyone from locking the windows and boarding them up.
